Kieta Wheeler, LSW

Therapist

Kieta Wheeler

“Kieta has helped me develop tools and confidence to approach situations as they occur, rather than do my normal escape routine. She is a blessing that I am thankful for on a daily basis.”
– Female, 47

“Kieta is one of the most respectful and fun people I have ever had the chance of meeting – she makes me feel more comfortable about opening up, on top of showing my real personality :)”
– Transgender Teen, 16

“I had taken my teen to a few therapists before Kieta and to say that they didn’t love the process would be an understatement. It makes my heart so happy when I hear them share with me, ‘Well, Kieta and I have been working on…’”
– Parent

Curiosity. Empowerment. Humor. These three values are the pillars of Kieta’s therapeutic practice. She strives to sit across from everyone with a genuine sense of curiosity; about who they are and how she might be able to help them reconnect with the truth of their being. She believes that we are more than our experiences, habits, and reactions and that cultivating our sense of self empowers us to live vibrant, healthy lives. While humor may not be a tool exclusive to the therapeutic environment, she thinks they were on to something when they said that laughter is the best medicine.

Kieta has an LSW and is working toward her independent licensure under the supervision of Karen Cowie, LISW-S, LICDC-CS. Her educational background includes a Master of Social work from Louisiana State University and a Master in Management from the University of Phoenix.
